Atlas of Living Australia data on invasive alien species found in Tuvalu

Online post by Energy Sector Management Assistance Program in 2017

As part of the Coastal Health Monitoring component of the Tuvalu IW R2R Project, baseline water quality surveys and analysis were carried from 14th to 17th September 2018. The coastal health monitoring program is designed to characterise ecological health of, and assess causal links between land based activities, and algal blooms and ciguatera occurrences in the Fogafale lagoon adjacent to populated areas of Funafuti atoll in Tuvalu. Baseline assessments of the Tafua pond, adjacent to the IW R2R demonstration dry-litter piggery site, was also conducted.

As a developing country, Tuvalu is listed under Article 5 of the Montreal Protocol, and therefore provided with assistance to phase-out consumption of CFCs by 2010, HCFCs by 2030, and HFCs by 2024. According to Tuvalu’s 2010 National Compliance Action Strategy (NCAS) to implement the Montreal Protocol, only two types of ODS are known to have been imported into Tuvalu – CFCs and HCFCs, both in very small quantities. All consumption of these substances is through the refrigeration and air conditioning service sector (Government of Tuvalu 2010).

This dataset contains mapping information (shapefile) of reefs in Tuvalu including its distribution. A foundation baseline map for future, more detailed, work.

Long form dataset containing data from APWC high level waste sorts and detailed container sort. See the "Pivot Table" sheet for a summary of the data contained here.
Note that average values will not work for the pivot table, as each category has a number of subcategories which messes up the calculation of averages.

This dataset contains mapped point locations for protected areas within Tuvalu. This dataset should be viewed in combination with the World Database on Protected Areas polygon locations to get a comprehensive view of all protected areas within Tuvalu.
